Question
Hi Christine,
I would like to have your advisement on my male rabbit..I have one doe dutch 7 weeks old, and I just got a 2 year buck mini rez from a friend that could no longer keep, he was kept out side in a hutch w/no other rabbits but rabbits in different hutches...he and my baby rabbit get along I let them meet in a nuetral area they did fine, but he wants to mount her and he is not fixed, I cant handle babys at this time, so I keep his home above hers.I feel bad when I cant bring both out I fell as if I am teasing one or the other, so I try to give them equal time...OK now my question Can i get him fixed at 2 years and him be ok? I have heard and read that if they dont get fixed before one year its to late there could be complacations. Is this true ? and if so do I have to keep them seperate 4ever or should I risk getting fixed....Also he isnt agressive he just doesnt like me messing in his home, changing litter, water, ext..Please advise me...Thank you for your help I tried to give as much information as I could to help you understand my issue sorry if this is to long

Answer
Hi Barbara,
Yes I think the best choice for you is to get him fixed. I had a male and a female and I left them together once for less than five minutes and 30 days later I woke up and their was nine babies in her cage, you wouldn't want that to happen.
Their is a greater risk of complications when the rabbits are older but I don't think 2 years is not that old. I think you should take the chance but you still need to consult your vet first. When you get rabbits fixed most of the time the become less aggressive.
Good luck and message me if you have any further questions,
Christine
