Question
We breeded our rabbit and she became pregnant. Well she ended up having 5  baby bunnies. Unfortunately she ended up eating all but one of them. Is this normal? She was a first time mother and also pretty young. We have one left and she is not taking care of it. How can we at least try to save this little thing?

Answer
Hi Niki,
well ive always been told that a mother rabbit will only eat her babies if you touch them. This is because when you stroke the babies your scent will be on the baby.So when the mother goes and cleans her baby she will smell your scent, not hers so she will eat the baby. But if you didnt stroke the babies then im not so sure why she had eaten them.
Well to save the one you have left its best that you keep it warm and if you can...get a baby bottle and put milk in the bottle and try and get the baby to feed on it.
If the baby wont feed on it then i would take the baby to the vets as they might be able to do more. But i would try and het the baby to feed on the bottle.
Hope this helps and good luck from Natasha.
