Rabbit has lost his partner

Question
I purchased 2 rabbits about 4 months ago my guess would be they were 2 months old when i got them, although i am not sure, They are both males and neither had been fixed since i have not been able to get to a vet that is able to Fix them. This morning when i awoke i went to call my dogs in and noticed one of the rabbits was layingin my back yard and was not alive. My problem now besides trying to grive for one bunny is that i now have a bunny that is alone his partner is gone and im not sure how to approach it. They have always had about a half acre of stables and grass to play in i dont want to move him into a small cage inside when he is use to so much freedom, but i am also worried about introducing a new rabbit and them not getting along. So i guess i am asking Would it be better to let him just be by himself and just shower him with twice the love an hope he is happy? or is it better to get a younger bun and work on introducing them and allowing them to co/exist?

Answer
There is a lot of good information at http://homepage.mac.com/mattocks/morfz/rabcare.html#grief it has information for you and if you scroll down how to help your surviving bunny deal with his loss.

Some bunnies do fine without a buddy if you become the substitute for their buddy (cuddle with them, pet them, spend time with them), but, if he stops eating and sits off by himself then he may need a new buddy.

If you do decide you need a second rabbit, you can find information at http://homepage.mac.com/mattocks/morfz/rabcare.html#bond on how to bond them.
