Question
Thankyou for your help. Is there any chance they will get along and be fine? Or will this most likely happen?

-----Question-----
I went to the pet store the other day and i decided on getting 2 male rabbits! They were in the same cage. They were getting along fine, when i bring them home they will be sharing a large cage. I didn't think this would be a problem since they were already together. Do you think they will still be able to get along? OR will they fight?
-----Answer-----
Hi Tiffany,

they will probably ultimately end up fighting.  Two males are not the ideal pair bond, just like two females aer not.  The serious (injury-level) fighting will occur when they hit sexual maturity and hormonal behavior begins.  Dominance issues will arise as well.  You would have to separate them at the first signs of aggression from one of them, get them both neutered (which will run you $150-200 each, depending where you are).  If you don't want them to be neutered and will yourself decide to put up with their more aggressive behavior and marking, you will have to keep them separate as long as they are living.

My suggestion to you would be to check out your local rabbit rescue groups and animal shelters and see if they have any already-bonded pairs.  Rescue groups always spay and neuter their rabbits before being adopted, and you don't have to pay for that.  Shelter and adoption fees are always much less than what is actually spent on the rabbits by these organizations.  If you truly want two rabbits, check these places out.  They will know more of the history of the rabbits and be able to tell you about their personalities more than a pet store employee would about the store's rabbits.  Many shelters and rescue groups have great bonded pairs that have been stable for years, and would love to have someone who is interested in helping a pair of rabbits with a forever home.

To find a local shelter, they generally are in your phone book, or do a google search for "animal shelther <your city> or <your state>".  to find rabbit rescue groups, go to:

http://www.rabbit.org/chapters/index.html

and find a House Rabbit Society chapter near you.

You will have a much better experience and get more information about rabbit care and behavior going the shelter/rescue route as opposed to the pet store route.

Answer
When they hit sexual maturity they will start fighting.  It's their hormones.  They are going to act like two male bunnies who are now driven by their hormones.

The best bet is that if you want two rabbits, get an already altered pair, and a pair that has been established for some time.  That is why I recommend going through the rescue/shelter path rather than the pet store path.
