Outdoor Himalayan

Question
For our bunny who lives in a shed, is it safe to put him out in the yard on a leash so he can have a change of scenery and enjoy the grass and sun? I've heard that there is a risk of picking up mites or diseases from wild rabbits. Is this true? Thanks.

No,there really isn't more danger of him picking something up than he would being outdoors in the shed...there's always a risk of picking up anything for any outdoor animals but they do build up an immunity against most things.  Letting him roam the yard on a leash is a wonderful way for him to enjoy fresh air and scenery.  As long as he's on a leash and not left unattended,he'll be fine.  (the danger of leaving a rabbit free to roam a yard unsupervised is always a huge reality)
