QuestionOk. Allright, now I'm sweating bullets! She was bred Jan. 15th, to be precise. I just cleaned out her litterbox. And I put a box that size in her cage, but she won't have anything to do it. What if she has them under my futon? Can I move them to that box in the cage??? So, saying, that she is due day 31, should I stay up tonight to keep an eye on her??? I'm nervous!!! This is our first litter and I am SOOO looking forward to being a grandma and I just want everything to go ok. BTW, she is getting more right now and was laying on it earlier!!! Help!!!
AnswerHeather, you will probably be a grandma tonight !!! She is in the house - right ? No danger of anything eating the kits ? You can let her have the kits under your futon, then place them in the nest - the nest should be full of soft hay, or whatever she is using ?
Just be sure there is no events or things that will make her more nervous than she already is - remember how nervous you were with your first ??? Double her water dish - she will drink lots of water, and give her 1/2 cup of rolled oats after she has the kits so she will have lots of milk. ( the oats everyday until weaning )
