eye infections

I currently have an eye infection and am wondering whether it is possible for my bunny to pick up on my infection (she likes to snuggle near my face)

Dear Tracy,

Some bacteria are transmissible between humans and rabbits, but it's not very likely that your bunny could contract your eye infection.  I might worry that some discharge from your eye could get on bunny's fur, and then another human might pet him and then rub an eye...and the rest will be history.

So until your eye clears up, it's probably best to wash your hands well before snuggling, and keep him away from your face.  You'll probably be fine again in a day or two.  I sure hope so!
