Other ways to care for rabbits

Question
My name is Casey Smith, and I am 13 years old. I have 2 rabbits (holland lop eared) Their names are Minksee and FlashJack. My average day starts at 6:00am. School starts at 7:20 and ends 2:20, After school I either do afterschool activities or hang with friends. I put my rabbits out in a seperated cage down underneath my deck. I made sure it was unescapeable by putting wood underneath the dirt so they couldnt dig. I give them shelter toys and supplies they need to last the day. You say a rabbit is not for me if I spend half or more of the day at school. I have recently noticed one of my rabbits barely know me, but I have considered giving them back but I cant because I love them so much I would cry for ages I have grown attached to them. I want to know if there is any way to give them more attention then I already am. Is there a way I can put them together they are both boys. Please try and give me the best advice you can without saying giving them up because I just couldnt do that cuz I love them way to much.

               THANKS SO MUCH,
                        Casey Smith

Answer
I am a little confused about this part "You say a rabbit is not for me if I spend half or more of the day at school." I never remember saying that to anyone.

At any rate, if you get the two males neutered, they can likely live together.

You can also work on litterbox training them so they can have free range of your room. If nothing else, if you have them in your room in a cage, you will be more likely to take them out and play with them. Rabbits that are kept outdoors are much more likely to be forgotten about. They will also be more used to being around you, so they will not be as scared if you go to hold them.

Set aside some time each day to spend with them. If you actually set aside a certain time, you will be more likely to do it. Even if you can only start with 20-30 minutes a day, that is a start. You can also plan to spend more time with them on weekends.

To be perfectly honest, many rabbit owners are at work or school for most of the day. It really is all about just setting aside some time each day and then actually spending that time with the rabbits.
