Sick baby rabbits

Question
Hello, it may be too late, but we have two baby rabbits, some people we knew ran over their nest in the wild, and gave them to us to care for, we have been feeding them milk replacment (for rabbits) about 4 times a day, and they are living in a little cage in a "nest" of hay and fleece. They were doing very well and starting to open their eyes, when today one wen't stiff and bloated all of the sudden. We don't know what it is, we have only had tame rabbits before. The little one may be dead, she is very still, but we are hoping because she got all sweaty and like, popped  hole in her stomach and some foul-smelling stuff came out. If it is too late for her as i think it may be (we can't see signs of breathing) what should i do for the other one? What if she gets sick? Thankyou so much for any and all answers!

Answer
I would say that the sick baby is probably dead or will be shortly, I know that is not always fun to hear, but it is nature.  I am going to guess at what happened, but rabbits in general are really hard to hand raise and wild ones are even more so.  I suspect that it was something like a GI upset. THis is fairly common in wild and domestic rabbits.  I really suggest you read through http://www.squirrelworld.com/RabRehab.html

This is an excellent set of articles about raising wild baby rabbits.
