Not enough attention (Rabbit Urinates)

Question
I have a lop eared rabbit who has become a member of the family.  He follows me around, sits on the couch with me and has been a surprisingly fun addition to the family.  We have worked through almost all of the bad behaviors but there is one that is driving me crazy.

At night if he is out and running around he is really well behaved.  But if he can find where you are sleeping such as the couch or in bed he will bother you to no end.  If you don't give him the attention that he is demanding he will urinate right next to you on the sheets or blanket that you are covered up with.  Is he just being moody and this is his way of showing disdain towards not getting attention.  We had a problem at one point if we didn't clean his cage in a timely manner due to running out of bedding he has jumped up on the couch and urinate on the couch cushion.  He has stopped this because we stocked up on bedding and take more notice to those moments in time.

Do you have any advice other than putting him back in his cage at night or when taking a nap or sleeping?  I am frustrated with this behavior.

Answer
If I had a bunny doing this, I would just put him in the cage at night.  I am not coherent enough to give him attention and thus reward him for his naughty behavior.

You could try to remove him from the couch or bed and pet him on the floor, thus rewarding him for staying at ground level.  You could block him away from the bedroom with baby gates.

I don't think it is unreasonable for you to expect to have a full night's sleep in a clean and dry bed, nor is it reasonable for him to expect to be petted on demand.

I would really restrict him when you plan to be asleep, it won't hurt him and will let you get the rest you need.
