Rabbit health: bloody discharge

Question
do rabbits have a bloody discharge.

Answer
Dear Marilynn,

No, a bloody discharge is not normal, no matter where it's coming from.  If this is from the vent of an unspayed female, you must get her to a good rabbit vet immediately for evaluation for spay surgery.  Unspayed females have a very high risk of uterine cancer, and if you catch it early, spaying can solve the problem.

Find a good vet here:

and don't delay in getting her there.  If the lesion is already bleeding, it is high time to have this treated.

I hope this helps.
