Question
My Lop Rabbit Seems To Sit Alone & In the corner alot even though at times the other rabbits smother her with there bodys as in comfort her as they are very loving. I noticed that it sits there rocking it's head side by side in a daze it is very young & tiny.I baught it from a pet shop which i generlaly dont support but it looked so cute & tiny. i trully love animals & i hold her alot as she sits very still in my arms but am concerned as i would not give her up if she is sick or may cause problems to the other rabbits. they are extremely spoilt as they have a huge hutch & run outside with plenty of tent housing also inside as well.
I thank you for your help thank you kindly.

Answer
Dear Nikki,

Some rabbits are "scanners" by birth.  No one really knows why they do this, but they gently move their heads from side to side as if they are reading the air.  It doesn't seem to be associated with any health problem, and is just a little congenital quirk.

If this is a very tiny baby, I wonder if you might be noticing her head moving just when she is breathing, which is another possibility.  But please read these articles so you'll know what to look for if she's ill:

Runny stool is the most important thing to be vigilant for in very tiny babies.

I hope she will be fine.
