Rabbits arent doing well

Question
I'm an animal lover and have a number of rabbits, tarantulas and other critters.  Some of my rabbits (namely 5 Netherland Dwarfs and a lionhead - there used to be two) live in a rabbit safe enclosure with my beloved Theraphosa blondi, a beautiful South American Tarantula.  Every so often, especially when I'd reintroduce young kits, or when the NDs would kindle, I would find what looks like some fur gummed together by blood, some sort of greasy stuff and what appears to be bones.  I'm pretty sure that these are the remains of some of the kits, and possibly my female lionhead.  Might the rabbits be doing this to each other or is it my Blondi?  What do you think is going on?

Answer
Bill

Theraphosa Blondi's are predators.  They need a warm tropical climate to survive.  Rabbits on the other hand can't tolerate the heat.  They are from 2 separate parts of the world.  These spiders are venomous enough to hunt and kill rodents.  Even though rabbits aren't rodents the kits are certainly small enough to be devoured by it.  I am surprised any of your rabbits are still alive.

If you are indeed an animal lover then for the love of your rabbits please remove them immediately.  They can't live like this.  This is a horrible life for them and an even worse way to die.  There is no way that the rabbits are killing each other to the point that all that is left is bones.  I have no doubt that it is your spider.

I promise you that if you remove your rabbits to a nice rabbit safe home free from the biggest recorded spider on earth that they will do much better.

Good luck
