rabbit cataract treatment

Question
My pet rabbit recently has shown signs of a cataract. I do not have the ability to pay for surgery. I have seen some home remedies on the internet such as applying honey to the eye or purchasing eye drops. Are there home remedies that are legitimate that I could try? Are any of these eye drop medications legitimate? Is it true that B vitamins can help?

Answer
Is it a cataract of an eye ulcer?

if it is an ulcer you can get antibiotic medication from the vet .Cataracts means permanent blindness and are rarely treated by vets unless there is infection which is a danger to the rabbit.

If you cannot afford to pay for treatment contact your nearest animal humane centre for advice on help treating your pet. The main thing is not to let your pet suffer and i am sure they will respect you going to them for help

I donot recommend home remedies without consulting your vet first as you may make the problem worse and your rabbit could have a bad reaction to the treatment
