rabbits kits died

Question
my rabbit had its first litter a week ago.  she ate one, 2 were very large and both dead and the one was alive but died the next day.  i am concerned as she still seems to be nesting.  she constantly keeps pulling out her fur still and rebuilding her nest even though she has no kits to nurse is this normal and why did she eat one?

hi caroline if she was a first time doe this is quite common in the fact that she killed them if you mate her again she will more than likely rear them.
i would remove all the nest material and give her cage a good clean she will then stop pulling fur.
