moist and smelly droppings

Question
hi my 9 week old giant lop came to me with normal droppings but is now quite moist and it smells strong, ive been giving same food she had whilst at breeders and not been giving her veg as was told not to give for a couple of weeks as this can upset her tummy? she also has plenty of hay and has been on the grass a few times and obviously eaten a bit of that. am i doing something wrong? is she not sposed to be going on to the grass to eat? she is a house rabbit so i like her to have a bit of time in the garden but worried the grass is upsetting her tummy?  also how long until she will be ready for litter training? she just poo's anywhere in her cage and not doing it in 1 corner as of yet.
thank you for your help.

Answer
hello tracey

Your bunnies poo has most probably gone moist ans amelly because of the veg and grass. she is still very young and really she should start eating grass at about 4 months and start eating veg at about 5-6 months but give it to he in very little portions, please dont worry you have not done any harm giving her these foods, do what you was doing and leave out the veg and grass untill she is at the right age to have it this will clear up the messy poo. also NEVER give your bunny lettuce it is really bad for them.

Hay is the most important part of a bunnies diet so keep giving her loads of hay and small amounts of pellet food.

As for the littler training, she is at the perfect age to start training her. there are a few ways to try and train her. If you would like some help with this then please just ask as i will be happy to help.

hope this helps
