Question
Hi
Was wondering if u could help me. I have 4 rabbits. Poncho 6 months, bingley 5 1/2 months, fozzy 4 months & tiny 3months. When we got them we were aware that they all needed to be castrated so they didn't fight. The two older ones we got at the same time and have always been very happy with each other. But since having them castrated poncho is bullying bingley to the point that he is screaming out and covered in cuts on his back. He does bully the other two but not as much.
Bingley is like a nervous wreck. We no longer keep them in the same hutch. But with 4 rabbits I am worried about how they're all going to get along. I only have a small yard so it is going to be difficult for them to run around without them all being together.
Do you know why they aren't getting along anymore and why they're bullying and is there anything I can do?
Thanks
Kat

Answer
Hi Kat,

It is nearly impossible to bond 2 males much less 4.  It is best to keep them each in their own area and let them out to play separately.  I don't know why but even neutered males will fight for dominance.  As sad as it may seem sometimes they are better with no friend than one that fights with them.  If Bingley is screaming then Poncho is really hurting him.  This is a pair that I would not even attempt to bond.

I wish I had more answers for you but in all actuality nobody knows why 2 males fight.
