Sunflower Sprouts and follow up

Can I feed Cookie organically grown Sunflower sprouts?  We have been giving her Kale, Romaine , fresh cut grass, nibbles of hay and Sunflower sprouts and she has improved dramatically. She is spoilled and eats from our hand and then she hears the treat bowl on the floor will go running and nibble a piece of carrot or a papaya treat. For the past two days she has done a shower of normal fecal pellets and is happier and she even gave a push to her new wicker ball. Thank you for your help. All our family is very happy. We will be vigilant to prevent it from happening again.  Lots of hay, lots of greens, less pellets high in carbs. She finished her 10 day Septra. Should I continue with the Reglan and Gas Drops? Please, what follows? We all stayed home for the 4th of July weekend to take care of her. :)

I'm so glad to hear Cookie is showing signs of improvement.

Yes, you can discontinue the Reglan at this point and yes, you can feed her sunflower sprouts. It would be another good source of fiber for her.

Whenever introducing any new food, start with a small amount.

At this point, you need to start giving her probiotics to help repair her intestional biota (intestional health).

All creatures (including humans) have healthy bacteria in their stomach and instestines.  It's what keeps our digestive system working.  Whenever a stomach or intestional problem develops or whenever antiobiotics are taken, that healthy bacteria is killed and we need to replace it.

This is a very important step for Cookie - she needs probiotics now that she is passing some fecal pellets.  You need to help her regain the necessary healthy bacteria in her stomach and intestines so she can make a full recovery.


Since you are in Puerto Rico, I cannot tell you which online store to order from.

You should go online and do a search for "Acid Pak 4 way" and order it.  If possible, pay for rush shipment.
