old rabbits mixing with new rabbits

Question
i have recently bought 2 baby rabbits male and female, and already have another pair which are also male and female which ive had for a year and a half. the original ones are netherland dwarfs and the new ones are mini lops. the first problem is that the new pair and the old pair don't get on so they are seperate and i intend to introduce them gradually, so one pair is inside and the other is outside. the other problem is that the oroginal dwarf pair are now turning on each other, i don't know if this is just happening when im around but is it because they can smell the new bunnies on me? im worried i might have to get rid of the new ones. (the male dwarf one has been neutered but the female hasn't yet.)

Answer
Dear Dawn,

First, all the rabbits must be spayed/neutered, or fights will continue just from the smell of the newbies in the house.  Wash your hands well between bunny pairs, to avoid eliciting violence.  The aggression will eventually subside as the original rabbits become used to the scent of the new ones, but it's not clear whether all four will ever be able to run together.

Until then, keep the pairs well separated so that the original bunnies don't feel the need to argue about them!  :)

I hope that helps, and that peace returns to your household soon!
