just aqquired two seven month old rabbits very timid have free run of garden but wont leave hutch

You might want to check out this FAQ for new rabbit owners, especially the part about what to expect in the first 2 weeks - http://www.rabbit.org/care/new-bunny-index.html  They may not realize they can leave the hutch, you may have to show them how to get in and back out.

Rabbits are smart, but they have to be shown something several times before they understand how it works.
