Baby rabbits and the cold

Question
My daughter was given two rabbits and we were told that they were both male. Well 3 days later we had babies.  I separated the male from them.  We only had one that survived, the mom was not feeding the others. I tried to bottle feed them but the 4 did not make it.  I have the mom and baby in a cage outside but the temperature here in FL is getting down to the 50's.  Is this too cold for any of them exspecially the baby?

Answer
Dear Charity,

The temperatures now are not too cold for mama, but the baby might need more protection.  I would bring them inside for now, and here are some instructions that will help you with the baby and mama:

www.bio.miami.edu/hare/surpriselitter.html

www.bio.miami.edu/hare/orphan.html

and especially:

www.rabbit.org/health/spay.html

You can find a good rabbit vet here:

Hope this helps!
