Question
i have a 7 month old rabbit and she gave birth this afternoon.we are new at this and didnt know if she was pregnant.we weren't breeding her but we seperated them to late.she recently gave birth to 4 dead babys, none were alive.will she be ok?and how long does labor last?since we didn't know she was pregnant we didn't take precautions to prepare her for labor.was i wrong in not noticing anything?i feel so sorry for her.

Answer
Hello,

Labor usually only last a few hours. I would say since she has had no more since the first 4, then she probably won't have anymore.  She will be fine with the babies having died, but will seem a little lonely for a few days.
Always make sure when breeding them, that you put a nestbox in to the doe at the 28th day after being in with the buck. Even if you are sure she is not pregant just as a precaution. It is not your fault with the babies being born dead. Labor in bunnies is very hard to detect, They are so sneaky at having the babies! Usually the deliver late at night, and you never even see the labor cycle.
Hope this helps!
