Question
I have 2 outdoor rabbits and I looked out my back door this morning and saw baby bunnies. They are about 6 of them and look very healthy but all ran under the house. I guess this is where she had her babies. I have no idea how old they are. They are alert and fast running. I give my rabbits water and food everyday and never noticed the babies before. I tried to get information on the computer about them, The only thing that made sense was they leave there nest around 3 weeks old. I have no money to neuter or spayed. What do I do now. Wait until they get older before I seperate them. How do I catch them? etc etc

Answer
Hi,

you need to budget to get your adults fixed and separate them in the meantime otherwise you will have another litter.

You need to pick up humane traps from a outdoor/farm supply store like a Farm and Fleet.  They have humane traps you can put food in, and they step on a lever and a door comes down (not hurting them).

Then you can separate them into cages.  Spearate the two adults now, and in about 5 weeks separate the youngsters.

But you need to get a handle on this now, and start saving up for spay and neuters otherwise you are going to have a real problem on your hands and the local animal welfare agencies on you.  This is not funny or something that can be ignored and magically go away.

You should see if your humane society in the area has any special lower rates for fixing rabbits.  They may be able to help you.  Explain your situation, they may have funds set aside for helping people out with low cost spays and neuters of their pet rabbits.
