rabbits and cranberries

Is it good to give dried cranberries to rabbits, or does that make them sick?

I found your question in the Question Pool here today, where another expert had placed it.  Sorry for the delay, but I only now got this query.

Fresh cranberries are safe to give as a small, occasional treat.  They should be carefully washed, and not too many, since extra starch in the diet can cause intestinal upset.  Please read this regarding healthy diet for your bunny:

If you're thinking of giving bunny Craisins (dried, sweetened cranberries), these should be limited, too.  Give no more than 3-4 as a special treat.
