my rabbit had a fit

hi my rabbit is two mnts old she had a fit.we took her to the vet and she has meds shes still cant stand or walk do u know if she will recover from this its our family pet she lives in the house how long would this last the vet said her nerves system shut down please ans thank you michelle xx

Hi Michelle,

Are you saying that your rabbit is only 2 months old?  How long have you had it?  Baby bunnies need to be with their mothers until they are at least 8 weeks old.  It is very possible that she was weaned to early and does not have the necessary immune system to fight off any problems.  I will tell you honestly that young babies don't have a very good chance of surviving when they become severely ill.  The best thing you can do is make sure that the vet she is being treated by is familiar with rabbits.  I really don't understand what she means by the nervous system shutting down but it doesn't sound to good.
