QuestionI took my Lexi to the vet, a vet I've taken all my animals to for years. He gave her a shot of antibiotic and also sent her home with oral antibiotics. I questioned him about it and he said they would not hurt her and that she needs to be on abx for a few days. I am getting alot of conflicting messages. You told me no orals, and many other websites say the same thing...What should I do?
AnswerDear Jenn,
I never said no oral antibiotics. I said no oral *penicillins*. That's a big difference. There are plenty of antibiotics that are safe for rabbits to take orally.
If you're concerned, then tell me the name of the antibiotic, and I'll let you know if it's one of those that's a cause for concern. Hope that will help.
