rabbits sudden death

My daughter's rabbits are suddenly dying.  No real signs. Healthy acting one moment, dead the next.  Some bleeding, but seems like they are  beating their head against hutch.  I do not know for sure.  Bleeding in the eye area.

If you are in the UK, Europe, or Australia, and the rabbits are not vaccinated against Rabbit Calicivirus Disease (a.k.a. Viral Hemorrhagic Disease, or VHD), then RCD is a very scary and distinct possiblity.  Please read this immediately for complete information:

Sadly, once a rabbit has the virus, there is no treatment or cure.  It is a fatal disease.
