How long can a rat live

Question
I have heard the average life is 2 years? What can I do to try to lengthen that for my ratties? I want them to live as long as possible.

Yes sadly that is true... It is very hard to keep alive rats longer than they are excpected.
1. You must keep them away from illness
2. Healthy, low fat foods should be in their diet(unlimited feeding)
3. They should stay fit and muscular
4. They should eat plenty healhy vegatables
5. Even sometimes *cooked* meat is a favorite
6. Soy milk, Its a helper in preventing tumors
7. They should be living with a buddy or sibling/relative
8. Alot of excersise!
