Question
hey
i recently adopted 5 kits i feed them every 2 1/2 hours(even during night), I'm feeding them substituted kitten milk, i have them raped up in cotton wool under a light.
A few of the kits have there ears open and 2 smaller than they others. i rub there belly before i feed them if they do not go to the toilet i do it after i have feed them i was wondering if i am doing the right thing? and when can i start introducing solid foods?and how?

thank you jess

Answer
No - you don't need to rub their belly, you need to rub their genital area with a cotton q-tip or soft damp cloth to stimulate them to eliminate waste.

You don't want to start introducing solid foods until they open their eyes at two weeks old.. same as you would a human toddler, make food interesting and fun, and offer new things while continuing to bottle feed them. They will totally wean off the bottle by 5 weeks old.
