Question
Hi Sandra it's Yvonne again.
I was wondering what percent should I get of the harlan teklad blocks # 2014 has 14% protien and 3.5% fat
2018 has 18% protien and 5% fat
8604 I think has way to much protien and that is at 24% I will not choose that one unless you tell me to. Which one should I get?

I LOVE your dedication to these critters!!!!

I would get for sure the #2014  with the 14 percent protein.  The ones with the higher protein would be for rats that need increased protein and fat, like underweight or pregnant rats and babies too, and in fact 18 percent protein is not too high, its just borderline.  Sometimes higher protein isnt so bad if its quality animal protein and again, hairless rats, lactating rats and sick rats may need a diet with higher protein, but rats that are sensitve to it which many are, or healthy rats etc....they should be eating the #2014.

You can also check out regal rat by oxbow. Rats seem to love it more than the harlan and its just as good for them if not, better!!!
