rat bite!

Question
I was just holding my pet rat and she bit me, and it broke the skin! She is healthy, and i got her from a pet store.  Is this dangerous?  I have had her for about six months

 Pet rats do not carry diseases and rodents don't get rabies so you don't need to worry about that.  The only problem with rat bites is that since they can go so deep it can push bacteria from their mouths deep into the wound and it may become infected.  Keep the wound clean, and if you notice any excessive swelling, heat, or leakage you should notify your doctor.
