Smelly Rat Urine

Hey, Im the girl with the rat I was talking to you earlier today, but Ive asked too many follw ups so I need to start a new thread. I wemt to the pet store, and they said that I would have to leave my rat there for a few weeks while they "healed" her. I'm like, okay no! You guys got her sick iun the first place! And I JUST got her socialized! Like I'm gonna give her back to you idiots, and why would I anyways? I love her! Ididots. I was SO mad. I'm a vet tech! I think I can manage to give my rat antibiotics everyday, I give dogs shots for crying out loud! So I ended up having to ask the veterinarian I work for to help me, and he said he would work out a payment with me later, but I honestly dont think he'll make me pay anything. He gave me 5mL of anitbiotics to give her for a few days...he was great with her. Thank you so much for your help though, because being a first time rat owner I always have a few questions here and there, and although I KNOW what to do in most situations, hearing the advice is a nice reassurance.

The baytril should clear that up in no time. I had a feeling the pet store would pull that stunt.  Their return policy is cruel: like the animal is some pair of shoes you can return if they dont fit or something. Poor ratties. They would probably have given her some bird antibiotics over the counter junk and put her in with other sick rats, boys and girls alike and you would have ended up with a pregnant rat.
