Question
Hi Doctor,
Your amazing.  Yes I have heard of the place you mentioned.  About a year ago I rescued a girl white rat from Petland.  I bought her and brought her to Petco where I had met thes great guy who worked there named Rene.  I live in a no pet building so I have to hide my two boys.  The rat I got from Petland I saved she was in horrible condition.  She had a stoke.  Rene sent her tho the vet you just mentioned.  Petco had an account with them.  They healed her and she was adopted by a family from the that vet you mentioned.  I was so happy for her.  I named her temporarily Remalina after Remy from Ratatouille.  I'm originally from MA.  I'm a volunteer for PETA.  I was having and still am having an issue with my building because I refuse to use glue traps.  I have a humane trap.  I catch the mice and let them go alive in Central Park.  I would of course do the same if the building had rats.  Manhattan is a great place to live if you have money, which I don't.  I'm actually thinking of moving back to MA.  I have not been to Ohio.  I would like to visit there one day.  Thank you again for your help in time ALL DAY.  I put the air conditioning on and Remy is doing much better.  I gave him and Emil there first cob of corn today and they loved it.  They keep trying to move it.  Right now they are on my bed(I let them stay on my bed all day) with the corn cob. They are trying to hide it behind the pillow.  It's so cute. I will keep an eye on Remy throughout the night and tommorow.  If there is no improvement I will bring him to the place you mentioned. Thank you so much!!!!

Answer
Hi Dianne

I do thank you for your confidence in me but want to point out just in case others read this and do not realize you are joking about my being a Doctor, since of course, I am far from it, but its a dream unrealized.

Back to the topic at hand:

I am glad they are having fun with the corn on the cob. Have you tried a hard boiled egg yet? Thats a real riot!! They have no clue how to open it if you dont make a crack for them and once you do, they destroy it in minutes.  Its messy so beware!
I am like you with the humane traps. I think I am worse. We had mice this winter that found their way into my cabinet where the pots and pans were kept.  My SIX CATS heard them first and unfortunately they killed at least three of them.  I remember prying open the jaws of my cat and releasing the little mouse and I grabbed her and talked to her while she passed away from her injuries. I was so peeved but at the same time, my cats were doing their job. I kept the door to the cabinet taped all winter long and like some NUT CASE, I fed the mice.  Yes I fed the mice.I figured if they got food they would not migrate into the kitchen and I was right. I trapped several but when I found so many babies I did not want to take mom from them so I let the live in the cabinet and they actually left on their own when spring came, which for us in NC is around February. Ok I wont brag.  LOL

I really am the weird rodent lady....
