my rats skin and tail

Question
my rats tail has become dry and flaky, and his hair dull, and wirey.  When I bathed her I noticed little red marks all over her body on her skin almost like under her skin.  I was wondering if you had an idea of whats going on and what I can do?  Her eyes dont look as bright either...

Is she itching?  What kind of diet is she eating?  Please check out sandyscrittercity.com and refer to the page on diet and also the page on skin ailments.  Often, a diet too high in protein has alot to do with poor coat and dry skin. Try giving her some olive oil on a cracker a few times a day but do check out the diet and be sure she is getting the right types of foods.
