Question
hi ive recently purshased 2 female rats who are 3-4 moths old. ive had a male rat before ans he was just the most loving thing ever. i let my rats settle in for 1 day talkin to them gently yhe whole time and tried to get them out last nite but they squirmed and are very fast squeaking loudly so i placed them back in as they tried to jump out of my hands. now are very standoffish nt wanting to come out what is the best thing to do next?

In short, never force them to come out by grabbing them and taking them out of the cage or they may get hurt trying to get away from you.  My site tells you how to set up a play area for them and how to get them to come out on their own.  Some of my more shy rats before I started to buy from a breeder where they were very socialized, they would only come out of the cage if I opened my shirt up for them to crawl into first. lol
