selamectin
selamectin
QUESTION: Dear Sandra ,
I sent the pic you asked for immediately . I'm guessing
something important came up for you in not responding . I wanted
you to know that I'm figuring to go with 0.05cc for Muffing and
half of that for Moo-Cow . Hope things are well for you and thank
you again for your efforts , always appreciated .

ANSWER: Oh, I am so sorry. I thought that the question went through. As you know I anwered you every time fast so something must have occured it did not publish. My appologies.

Anyhow, the syringe you have here is different than a regualar syringe that measures in mls or ccs.
In order to properly dose the rat you cannot use this syringe measured in units to the .05 mark.

I looked up a syringe measured in units and one measured in ccs and they are two totally diffrent measurements.

I advise calling a pharmacist to ask how many units make .12ccs which is the dose you need for a 1 lb rat and for the smaller rat, .05 ccs.
I do not want to be responsible for over dosing your rat.
Again, I sent this via allexperts email and it must not have been published.

QUESTION: .....hi Sandra ,
Thankyou for your e-m . Before I go off to a pharmacist
I wanted to send you a more accurate picture for comparison , as I was
quite sure the syringe I desired to use is a "insulin" syringe which is as small as I know of (measuring in cc units) as I showed it the photo. But here is a photo showing this one next to the dime and includes a larger syringe (not much larger) that seem to indicate ml's ??? Do you still think the smaller one I sent you the pic of is not appropriate ? If it is O.K, do I draw to ,,,the 5 . And half up to that for Moo-Cow ? I'm thinking this should be correct.

Answer
I just want it to be accurate as you do.  You need to measure the selamectin from the syringe that is measuring mls/ccs (they are the same)  and it goes as follows:

For the smaller rat, he should have 0.05 and the larger rat, providing he weighs 1 pound, he can have 0.10 to 0.12.

I cant see the numbers in the photo you gave me but either way, it measures the same. your syringe is probably 1 full ml/cc if you filled it up but of course you wont fill it up. You will be giving the smaller one just a small dot of it at .05 ml/ccs. (*which is the first long line before the .10 and the larger rat 0.10 to 0.12.

Keep the needle on it to draw the selamectin out and remove the needle before use so you dont accidentally prick the rats skin.

I assume you have the kitten strength revolution in  the mauve box?
