QUESTION: she was nearly bitten on the head but she moved to fast and i was worried she might be scared of me or my dog now because this is the first time any of my rats have been through something like this

ANSWER: She is probably scared of the dog, and rightly so. Never trust a dog or cat or any animal that is larger than your rat with him.  Not ever.  Understand that, no matter how tender you think your dog is, no matter how sweet and gentle he may be, he is still a dog and dogs kill rats be it on a whim or just by pure accident becuase the rat is so small, one wrong move and the rats neck can just snap and death would be instant.  Even if you raise them together and the dog or cat were just babies themselves, the size of the dog now compared to the rat is like putting a human with an elephant!  How is she acting toward you?

QUESTION: shes is acting a little bit odd at the moment i am trying new rat leashes on them that have harnesses she was so calm before it properly would have worked first time but now all she wants to do is run away now

Answer
Try  making her a safe play area. Check out my website, sandyscrittercity.com and go to the page called GETTING STARTED.   Follow the instructions on how to make a fun play area for her to play in and it will be all geared for rat play. I dont know if you will have luck with the rat leash/harnass.  I know once I bought one for my rats and after fighting to get it on,   it popped right back off because he was  a tad too chubby for it!!
