how many rats should i get?

hi, I'm 14 and i want to buy rats but i don't think ill be able to look after 2, i don't want my rat to be upset. i don't think ill be able to spend allot of time with it but having 2 might be too hard. what should i do?, should i get 1 or 2? thanks

Well you may not like my answer but I would suggest none at this time. If you have little time to spend with your pet rat and unable to care for two (which will be pretty much like having one) then you should reconsider getting a pet at this time. Any animal will need attention or a companion and sometimes both. Maybe you should research a little more about what you have as options based on your schedule. A better pet option would be a reptile or amphibian. They require little to no play time and are easy to clean after. Things like lizards, frogs, snakes.
