How do you know the gender of a hermit crab?

Answer
On the underside of a crab, on it's third pair of legs, a female will have a small dot on each segment closest to the body called gonopores. Females have them, males dont. they are about the size of a pencil dot. Color, size, and pincher size have nothing to do with gender.
