Leaving the Hermits alone

Question
Hello,

I was wondering how long is it safe to leave my hermit crabs alone? I'm at school in residence right now, and I'm going home for or await... unfortunately it is to far to take my crabs with me, for the length of my stay at home. They have 2 medium sized water bowls one with fresh water one with salt water... but I do plan on picking up more for them... and I will be picking up the food that last a week or more for them wail I'm gone too. But I still really wanna know how long is it safe to leave them alone for... I have 3 small to medium sized crabs. one of them look like a Rugosus and the other two look like Compressus. I don't know if that makes a difference...
Thank you, Trista

Answer
The longest I would feel comfortable leaving the crabs is about 4-5 days. If you have to be gone longer you could invest in a 2-3 gallon kritter keeper and take them with you or you could get a friend to stop by and feed them.

The biggest worry is that the water dishes will evaporate and that they will be left without water for that time.
