Hermit Gone Crazy?

Question
I've had my hermie for over 4 years, and he's (yes, i've confirmed he's a boy) outlived his 3 buddies.  I'm not sure about the specific size of his tank, but it's a foot wide, 8 inches high and 6 inches deep, filled with plain sand.  He loves his habitat - always climbing and crawling around.  He eats and drinks every day.  Over the past week, he's been especially active - and rather rambuctious (if a hermie can be rambuctious).  When I checked on him today, he dug to the bottom of his tank and managed to cover himself in a spare shell and food shell.  He's also never changed his shell - even though I have 3 shells for his shape/size - and he loves his cuttlebone, which helps him grow.

By reading past answers, I figured it might be molting -- but just over a month ago, he molted and lost his entire exoskelton, revealing his new bod.  I'm pretty sure he has enough humidity, even though I don't have a gauge - I live in a very humid climate and spritz his tank daily.  Is he just having fun and digging his way to China -- or should I be concerned about his behavior?

Please give me some clues.  Many thanks! Samantha

Answer
It's very possible he could be molting again or just digging for the sheer fun of it. I call it "going bugs bunny" as they tunnel around under the substrate. It's a very good sign, especially if he is also very active. You shouldn't be concerned at all!

Good luck!
