Questionhi, my crab just molted and changed shells at the same time. i was wondering why she would do that and looked online at some sites and one said she may have mites! so i went and inspected my crabitat and she does! i know that i need to sterilize my tank but now i wonder if i have mites in my room or my bed even!!! i hate bugs and now im scared to sleep in my own bed! please help!!!!
AnswerDid you see mites? It's very normal for them to molt and change shells at the same time. If she did have mites you don't have to worry about them leaving the tank. Hermit Crab mites are particular to only hermit crabs and nothing else. They won't move into your house.
