Question
How can I bring a hermit crab back to the wild?
I think my hermit crab is stressed. When I first got him, he lost a leg. i've had him for about 6 months. He changed into a shell i found in hawaii on the beach. (That's the only shell i have that is natural) And now i woke up this morning wth him the water dish w/o his shell on. He's not moving right now but he is alive. I think he's stressed and wants to go back to the wild. The temp is 70 and the humidty is 80, i also have 8 other hermit crab. He was never really that active, and when i picked him up he always opend his claw like he was mad. Also before when i got him, he would be ontop of the other crabs and they would make chirping sounds. I think he's a wild crab.

How can I bring him back to the wild?

Answer
All crabs are wild crabs. They were all on the beach at some point. Make sure you have adequate humidity, temperature, substrate and water. It is illegal to put a hermit crab back on the beach and if he is ill enough to be streaking he would not survive on the beach at all.
