Question
hi i need help with my hermit crab's habit molting process. all i know is that they need to have a moist habit will in the process. i need to know if there's anything else i should do. please respond ASAP please!!

Answer
Dear Josh,
thank you for your question.
To molt, a crab needs substrate that's deep enough for it to bury completely, about twice the height of the crab. Moist sand or coconut fibre beeding (Eco Earth/Forest Bedding) are good substrates that keep moisture very well.
Apart from providing good conditions (temperature, humidity, food ect.), there's not much you can do. Molting ccrabs should be left alone completely, they are already stressed and handling them just adds to their stress. It make take weeks or even months, depending on the size of the crab, until the crab is up again, but please don't dig it up, this can be deadly for the crab.
