Again Out of the shell

Question
I have one year plus with this pal, I noticed yesterday it was deep in water in his quite large and warm tank, but today I noticed he is complete out of his shell, walks slowly without shell, seems to be sad. There are extra shells for him, I tried to pull him in but does not cooperate. Left it alone in a confined area with shells, doesn't do anythig.

I noticed his abdomen is thick and fat, I taught shoulb be slim, I never seen one out, is this an indicator he will die? His still alive, but walking like careless does not climb and without shell...will he die? Is there medicine for them? Thanks...

Answer
Hello David,
Sorry for the delay in my answer i had a problem trying to send it! It sounds like you have been doing everything right! Some crabs can go shelless if they are stressed! Has your crab molted yet? Sometimes hanging out by the water means they are close to molting. Or the other reason is he maybe dying! In my experience when a crab goes shelless mine usually pass on or had something irritating in his shell .  If he puts a shell back on then he may have a chance.  Try rinsing out the shells with bottled water.. The abdomen sounds okay but it is hard to tell since I cannot see it.!If you are very careful rinse him with the bottles water to get any sand or debris off of him ..then gently put him into a shell...See if that works at all!Good luck..
