Question I have a crab and he just came up from molting and he went out of his shell. now hes trying to get get back into his old shell and he cant. His tail is sort of curved like a c and is bunched up at the end. Is that normal is there anything i can do to stop it?
AnswerIt is normal for some to deshell after molting. I would rinse out his shell and place him in a small container with that shell and a couple more and leave him for an hour or so. If that doesn't work, gently slide his butt into the shell and then lightly tap on the armor plate behind his eyes to trigger his withdraw response. That will work 95% of the time.
