MOLTING-NOT SURE IF STILL ALIVE

Hi, my son is worried to death! yesterday morning one of our land hermit crabs was molting. By the time we got home yesterday evening it was almost done, just a very small part of the leg was still attached. But today, it's in the same position and it looks like it hasn't moved. My son picked it up and it seems that its still not moving. Is it dead? Now today, our smaller crab seems to be molting and I don't want it to die!!!! What do we do???? Thanks Maria

Well the sign that it is molting above ground means that it is stressed out. You can't pick it up or disturb it while its molting or he will die. Darken the cage. How deep is your sand? What do you feed? How big of a cage do you have? What is your temperature and what is the humidity?
