QuestionWe got three new crabs yesterday. After we gave them a bath and we were letting it dry, one of the crabs fell off the table(2-3 feet) on to the tile floor and a large chunk in the middle of its shell broke off. It's not moving,it's curled up in a ball and won't move. Should we wait until it crawls into a new shell or what should we do?
AnswerPlace it in the tank with a wide selection of shells that have been rinsed with dechlorinated water. He will probably be fine but there is always a chance that he sustained some internal damage. However I have seen crabs with this type of fall survive before.
Are your other two crabs leaving him alone or are they curious about him?
