Question
QUESTION: Hi Tina, I contacted you on the 1st may about a crab that had molted and moved out of his shell. It must be at least 10 days since i asked for your advice and i am sure that is why it is still alive and seems to be still very strong. He has 2 new shells i bought ( that makes a total of 8 shells he could move to)He seems quite happy living in his hermie hut and we keep misting him and he seems to come out for food.We have isolated him from the 2 other crabs, who don't seem that interested anyway as they in different stages of molting. Am i going to have 3 nude crabs soon?

ANSWER: Tricia,  You have a serious streaker. Have you tried to stress coat his abdomen and gently coax him into a shell. Try it. Keep him misted and cover him for privacy that's about all you can do is be patient if he doesn't accept any of the shells you try to coax him in....Good Luck, Tina

QUESTION: Yes we did stress coat him and have 3 times put him in a shell. He is a crazy crab!!!

Answer
Tricia,  I know this is so frustrating but very comical....they are so funny sometimes. All you can do is wait...maybe more shells ...try not dipping them in salt after you boil them maybe that will help. Keep him moist and be patient. I have a female just like him. She is usually over it in a week or so. They would make a great couple...lol Good Luck, Tina
