when will my hermit crab molt? i have had them both for about a year and im not sure about it.

Answer
It depends on several factors. One is size, a small crab molts more often than a large crab.

The other biggest factor is the conditions of your tank. Crabs prefer to bury themselves in moist substrate like sand or coconut fiber bedding to molt. If you have shallow or non-diggable substrate they will delay molting which is hard on their system.

Poor diet can also supress molting especially failure to offer fresh and ocean style salt water in pools deep enough for your crab to climb into and get their shell wet.
